By Eva Pierrakos & Judith Saly
(Reviewed by Carol Clancy)
Creating Union is a compilation of lectures from The Pathwork Foundation, an organization dedicated to the work of Eva Pierrakos. For more than 20 years, Eva met with small groups to bring messages from an incarnate being known only as the Guide. The spoken lectures were transcribed into 258 separate lectures that offer psycho-spiritual solutions to the human condition. This book was compiled and edited by Judith Saly, one of the original students of the material, and features lectures that specifically focus on relationships. The lectures she chose and arranged mostly reference man-woman relationships; however, the principles of the Pathwork can be applied to any kind of relationship in life. As Saly says in her introduction, "If life is school, relationship is its university."
If you are wary of channeled entities or new-age gurus, don’t let that stop you from reading this book or finding out more about Pathwork as a whole. The channeled aspect of the material is the least interesting part of it. We only know the teacher as the “Guide” and are told almost nothing else about this entity. There is no other-worldly or woo-woo drama. This material is straightforward and practical, yet incredibly transformative. You cannot read this book and practice these principles and not be changed by it.
An added plus for residents of Central Virginia – Pathwork has a thriving group right here in the Richmond/Charlottesville area. If you find these teachings helpful or inspirational, you can go to the website for the Mid-Atlantic Pathwork group and find out about local workshops and events.
